FOOTBALL TAILGATE POLICIES
In order to advance our athletics mission of a "Best in Class" experience, athletic events should be conducted in an environment that is safe and enjoyable for all. Texas A&M University-Commerce reserves the right to deny participation to anyone for adequate cause and reserves the right to suspend any individual or group privileges for tailgate activities at any time for violation of these guidelines.

2023 TAILGATING
Tailgate spots are assigned on a "first come, first served" basis, with priority given to Lion Champions Fund donors and registered student organizations. Call Lion Sales and Service at 903-468-8756 to reserve your spot.

Tailgate lots open at least FIVE hours prior to kickoff, and lots close 30 minutes prior to kickoff.

RULES
  • Alcohol is permitted (to those at least 21 years of age) in the Tailgate Area in plastic cups or aluminum bottles.
  • NO GLASS BOTTLES OR CUPS ALLOWED
  • Alcohol should NOT leave the Tailgate Area at any time.
  • The sale of food or beverages or other commercial products is strictly prohibited (prior approval by the University is required).
  • Companies may not issue sample products without prior approval by Lion Athletics.
  • Pets are NOT permitted in the Tailgate Area (unless they are service animals)
  • All groups or individuals using a tailgate spot are required to clean up the area prior to the start of the game. If area is not cleaned up, the group or individual will be subject to forfeiture of future priority.
  • RVs are welcome but need to call in advance for reservations and accommodations.
  • Vehicles parked on Frontage road throughout the week will be notified from Thursday through Saturday morning that towing will occur if vehicle is not moved by Saturday morning.
  • Unlicensed or uninsured vehicles are prohibited.
  • All students and general tailgate participants are expected to abide by the Student Code of Conduct, all University policies, and all applicable laws. Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in eviction from the Tailgate Area with possible University, local, or state action to follow.
  • Individual(s) or groups engaging in inappropriate or disruptive behavior will be directed by law enforcement personnel to cease and desist.
  • Amplified speakers are NOT permitted during tailgating. Music must be confined to your tailgate area. Tailgaters are encouraged to contact Lion Athletics - Game Day Staff when music from another tailgate party becomes a nuisance. In addition, the game day operations staff and University Police will have sole discretion in determining if the overall volume level of the sound system is appropriate.
  • Portable generators should be placed in the least disturbing areas of your tailgate spot. (i.e. In the back of truck, in the middle of the tailgate spot, or have the muffler directed away from the nearest neighbor).
  • Outside fundraising in the Tailgate Area is NOT permitted unless prior approval by Lion Athletics is obtained.
  • Banners, signage, and product placement is NOT permitted without prior approval by Lion Athletics. Only companies that have corporate partnership agreements with Lion Sports Properties may display their signage.
  • Political advertisement must be cleared through the University according to the University Political Activity policy.
  • Grills and/or Cookers CANNOT be moved from the Tailgate Area until tailgate is closed.
  • No tailgate activities can interfere with traffic flow along sidewalks or roads.

FRONTAGE ROAD REGULATIONS
  • Frontage road is closed to through traffic on game days.
  • Approved vehicles ONLY allowed on service road
  • Road will resume two-way traffic 30 minutes following the conclusion of the game
  • All traffic regulations will need to be obeyed, or cars will be ticketed and/or towed.
  • No tailgating activities can take part along west side of frontage road.
