2016 (Cross Country): Competed in three meets as a freshman… Placed 16th at the Lois Davis Invitational (10/8)… Ran a season-best 27:52.1 in the 8K at the LSC Championships (10/22), placing 47th.
 
Prior to A&M-Commerce: Four-year letter winner in track and field, cross country and basketball… Ran in the 800-meters, 1600-meters and participated in the triple jump and long jump… Ran a personal best 1:58 in the 800-meters, 4:38 in the 1600 meters and 15:58 in the 5K… Named to the All-State Cross Country Team as a junior… Named the East Texas Max Preps Best Male Cross Country Athlete as a junior… State qualifier in cross country his junior and senior years. District champions his sophomore, junior and senior years.
 
Personal: Born August 2, 1997… Son of Sam Hammontree and Sandra Lynch. Father Sam was a four-year runner in track and field and cross country at Louisiana Tech.
