The Lions and Aggies were tied four times in the opening set before prevailing with a 25-22 victory in the opening set. It is the ninth time that A&M-Commerce has won the first set. In the victory, the Lions out hit the Aggies by a .387 to .333 margin.

In the second set, the Lions led from start to finish en route to a 25-22 win for a two-set lead. In the set, A&M-Commerce hit .133 and took advantage of nine attack errors by OPSU.

Following the intermission, both teams had a strong attack in the third set. The Aggies won the third set, 25-21, on the strength of a .321 to .267 advantage in hitting percentage.

Freshman Kayla Bond sparked the Lions off the bench in the fourth set. With A&M-Commerce trailing 15-10, the Denton, Texas native served six-straight points to put the Lions ahead by a 16-15 margin. A&M-Commerce closed out the match on a 15 to 2 run for the win.

"We found another gear in the fourth set and it put them in a tough spot," noted head coach Craig Case. The Lions had 10 kills and hit .421 in the fourth and final set.

Next, the Lions return home to host Midwestern State on Thursday night at 7 pm at the A&M-Commerce Field House.
