A&M-Kingsville is 3-2 in their last five games with loses to Angelo and Tarleton State and wins against Incarnate Word, A&M-International and Southwestern Oklahoma. In the three wins A&M-K has only dropped one set and the two losses they have only won set. The Javelinas play at Texas Woman's before taking on the Lions. LSC Players of the Week
The Lions won two of the three weekly honors award by the conference office this week with
Amy Davault earning Co-Offensive Player of the Week and
Jordan Neal earning Co-Setter of the Week. Davault recorded two double-doubles and a 4.86 points per set average. Neal recorded 35 plus assists in both games over the weekend and recorded a double-double versus Cameron.
Assist Record in sight for Neal
Senior setter
Jordan Neal is just 260 assists shy of becoming the all-time leader for the Lions. Melissa Staiger holds the record currently with 3,843 career assists. If the Lions play three sets per match Neal will break the record at home against Texas Woman's on Wednesday October 23 based on her current assist per set average.
Service Ace All-Time Leaderboard
Jordan Neal is also climbing this list. Neal has recorded 17 aces on the season and now has 123 for her career, which ranks sixth all-time in Lion history. Neal would need to average close to two aces per match from here on out to break that record.
Bond Moving Up Block Assist List
Senior right side
Kayla Bond is now tied for eighth all-time in block assists with 196. Bond is 59 behind Belinda Hess-Shepherd for the all-time record. If Bond continues at her pace she will finish the regular season two behind the record at 253 and sit second all-time.Â
