Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Big Second Half Lifts Lions Past Patriots

Commerce, Texas – The A&M-Commerce men's basketball team kept the momentum going picking up their fifth consecutive win and avenging an earlier loss to Dallas Baptist. The Lions defense controlled the game allowing the Patriots to only shoot 27.9 percent from the field and holding DBU to only 55 points Saturday afternoon at the Field House.

"It is by far the best we have played defense all year," A&M-Commerce head coach Sam Walker said. " They came in averaging 95 points a game and we held them to 55 and 27 percent from the floor. The team is really coming together playing team defense. When we play that kind of defense we will be a tough team to beat."

Anthony Adams had a big second half scoring 14 of his 20 points and going 2-2 from deep. Adams also had eight of his 10 rebounds in the second stanza.

The Lions defense had five of their six blocks in the second half and reeked havoc on the Patriots. Offensively the Lions shot 44.1 percent and 33.1 percent from beyond the arc.
