NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS – The A&M-Commerce football team travels to NCAA Division I FCS foe Stephen F. Austin Saturday at 6 p.m. for the Lions second game of the 2104 season.

Fans that wake up early for ESPN's College GameDay will need to keep an eye out for a feature on the Lions and senior quarterback Tyrik Rollison.

The Lions are coming off of a NCAA record breaking 98-20 rout of East Texas Baptist on September 4 at Memorial Field.  A&M-Commerce shattered the NCAA record for total yards with 986 yards.
 
SFA enters the matchup at 1-1 after a loss to Kansas State and a win over Incarnate Word in its last game.
 
The Opening Drive

- After a 98-20 rout of ETBU in the opener the Lions are 51-44-1 for a .531 winning percentage in 95 season openers prior to Thursday.
- In the win, the Lions shattered NCAA, LSC and school records ... The 986 yards of total offense set a new NCAA record ... To go along with the NCAA record for total offense, the Lions set LSC record for points scored with 98, tied the touchdown record with 13, broke the record for the most point after attempts with 13 ... The team scored 57 points in the first half for a new record.
- QB Tyrik Rollison threw for 562 yards and six TDs to lead the offense ... Rollison broke the school record for passing yards and total offensive yards, tied the record for TD passes and broke the record for yards per attempt with 17 yards per pass attempt. 
- As a team, the Lions snapped the net passing yards record with 590 yards through the air ... RB Theo Wofford broke the record for yards per carry in single-game averaging 11.4 yards.
- As a unit, the offense ran 81 plays snapping the total plays in game record ... The Lions also snapped the school record for yards per play with 12.7 yards per play. 
- The Lions experienced the biggest turnaround by a collegiate team in the state of Texas after their 7-5 season ... A&M-Commerce went 1-11 in 2012.
- The Lions set 20 team and individual records in 2013.
- DT Charles Tuaau was name the LSC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
- Tuaau and WR Vernon Johnson have been racking up preseason all-American honors ... A&M-Commerce is the only team with one or more preseason all-Americans.
- Johnson was named to the Reese's Senior Bowl watch list ...The Reese's Bowl is the premiere pre-draft bowl game.
 
About the Series
- The two teams meet after a 14-year hiatus with the last meeting coming in 2000, a 48-21 A&M-Commerce loss on the road at SFA .
- Stephen F. Austin is a former member of the Lone Star Conference ... The Jacks were one of the original conference members in 1931 but departed in 1984 when they left for FCS and the Southland Conference.
- The two schools have met 56 times with A&M-Commerce holding a 43-12-1 series advantage.
- The Lions hold the longest winning streak in the series at 14 games and have the highest margin in a victor at 47 points following a  54-7 win in 1954.
- After playing regularly as duel members of the LSC the two schools have only met once prior to Thursday's contest, the 2000 game, despite being separated by 156 miles.

- The Jacks are coming off of a 38-3 win over Southland Conference opponent Incarnate Word, but dropped their first game of the season back on August 30 at Kansas State, 55-16.
- The team averages 221.0 yards on the ground and 205.0 yards through the air so far on the 2014 season
- Gus Johnson is the leading rusher with 33 carries for 288 yards and five touchdowns ... Zach Conque has thrown 49 passes with 27 completions and 93 yards and one TD for the Jacks.
