KINGSVILLE, TEXAS- The Lions came into tonight's match going for their second LSC win in three tries when A&M-Commerce matched up against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Javelinas were able to out hit A&M-Commerce 47 to 32 and won in three sets (25-16, 25-23, 25-20).

In the first set the Javelinas out hit the Lions .316 percent compared to only .075 percent for A&M-Commerce and it set the tone early as the A&M-Kingsville went onto take the first set 25-16.

Amy Davault sparked the Lions offense early in the set with a huge kill the giving A&M-Commerce an 8-4 lead. Late in the set with the Lions trailing 22-21, Davault and
Taryn Driver came up with a block that tied the set for the Lions. Davault would come up with another big kill to tie the set 23-23. However, the Javelinas would rattle off the next two points and win the set.

With A&M-Commerce trailing 14-9
Delanee Clark sparked a run with a kill and then a block on back-to-back plays to make the score 14-11. Kills by
Neka Nelson and
Taryn Driver aided a late comeback push by the Lion making the score 21-15. A&M-Commerce's late push would not be enough as the Javelinas went on to win the set and the match.

With the win Texas A&M-Kingsville moves to 9-4, 2-3 in the LSC. The Javelinas were led by Kelsey Washington who had a match-high 13 kills. Stephanie Johns added 10 kills and had a hitting percentage of .615. Casey Klobedans had a match-high 41 assists.

A&M-Commerce falls to 3-11, 1-4 in the LSC. Davault had a team high 10 kills and
Courtney Tate contributed with 22 assists. Driver and
Veronika Baric combined for a team high blocks with three apiece.

The Lions return to the road on Tuesday, September 30 when A&M-Commerce matches up against Conference Rival Angelo State.
