No. 25 Lions Face Second Ranked Foe Saturday with No. 12 Tarleton State

Commerce, Texas – No. 25 A&M-Commerce looks to bounce back in the friendly confines of the Field House where the Lions are 8-0 on the season with their second ranked opponent in as many games with No. 12 Tarleton at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Fast-break Points About A&M-Commerce
- The Lions saw their six-game winning streak come to a close with a 79-63 loss at No. 8 Angelo State in its last game ... The Lions lost their first game to a ranked opponent this season.
- The Lions have won 13 of their last 15 games..
- The  No. 25 Lions, who have won 13 of their last 15, are ranked in the NABC Top 25 poll for the 26th time in program history ... Last ranking since No. 25 on December 3, 2013.
Darrell Williams has recorded 20 plus points and a double-double in six of the last eight games ... He leads the LSC with 13 double-doubles, in scoring 17.8 points per game, rebounds 12.2 rebounds per game -- only player averaging a double-double.
- Williams has grabbed 15 plus rebounds in six games this season and 20 plus rebounds twice during the year ... He is one of only two NCAA DII players with two 20-rebound games.
- A&M-Commerce fell 104-101 at DBU in OT on November 24 ... The Lions were 50-of-65 from the free throw line ... Both were school records while the 50 makes tied the highest mark in the LSC ... LaDon Carnegie was 18-of-23for school records in both.
- The Lions are the NCAA's leader defensive rebounds, seventh in FG percentage defense, seventh in total rebounds and ninth in FTs made and tenth in FTs attempted and  in rebounding margin.
-  Williams is ranked second in the NCAA in double-doubles with 12 ... Williams is also fourth in the NCAA in total rebounds, fifth in rebounds per game, sixth in defensive rebounds per game and eight in offensive rebounds per game   ... LaDon Carnegie is second in the LSC in scoring at 16.4 ppgs.
-A&M-Commerce has had an LSC Player of the Week in each of the first four weeks of the season ... Darrell Williams has won one offensive POTW and two straight defensive POTW awards ... LaDon Carnegie was named offensive of POTW once ... Williams followed with his second offensive player of the week on January 12.
- The Lions are coached by Sam Walker ... Walker is in his 15th season with A&M-Commerce and is the school's all-time winningest coach with an overall of 240-175 ... He has complied a 98-89 record in LSC games.
 
A&M-Commerce vs. Tarleton State:  The Series
- The Lions and Texans have met 60 times prior to Saturday's meeting with Tarleton State holding a slight advantage in the series 31-29 ... The Lion hold a 19-15 advantage in LSC games.
- Tarleton State has won nine of the last ten meetings including two of the three games in 2013-14 ... The Lions upset then No. 2 Tarleton State at home 79-76 in the regular season finale ... The Texans got revenge knocking the Lions out of the LSC Tournament 84-72 to end the A&M-Commerce season.
- The is the first time the two teams have met as ranked opponents and only the second time both have been ranked at the same time after both were ranked on December 3, 2013.

- TaShawn Marby leads the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 48 percent from three ... Mo Lee follows averaging 12.7 ppg and Michael Hardge is the third leading scorer averaging 11.2 ppf ... DaVene Carter leads the team with 5.5 rebounds per game.
- The Texans have only played three true road contests ... TSU has played two neutral site games.
- Tarleton State leads the leads in scoring defense allowing only 60.5 points per game.
