No. 18 Lions head to Tarleton State for LSC Meeting

Stephenville, Texas – No. 18 A&M-Commerce travels to Tarleton State to battle for the President's Cup with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

- Theo Wofford's 81-yard touchdown run was the longest rush of his career and his longest scoring play scrimmage ... It was the Lions second longest play from scrimmage in 2015 following the 86-yard strike from Stewart to Darby Smith ... The run was the longest rush in 10 seasons for the Lions.  Roger Daley broke off a 91-yard vs. Northeastern State in 2005 as the only mark longer.
- Wofford's 133 rushing yards also set a new career-high
- Richard Cooper's three scores and 18 points set new personal best for the junior back ...  His receiving TD was also the first of his career.
- Cole Pitts' 14 tackles set a new personal best for the senior linebacker ... Toni Pulu, Davarius Shores and Kevin Mederias' nine tackles were all career-highs for those three Lions.
- After his 219 yards through the air, Stewart has thrown for over 1,000 yards through the first four games of the season.  He currently sits at 1,023 yards.  For his Lion career, Stewart has thrown for 2,866 yards.
- The Lions recorded their third game of over 500 yards of total offense with the 547 yards Saturday.  In the Carthel-Storm three-year span, the Lions have surpassed that mark 12 times – 7 times in 2014 and twice in 2013.
- The Lions have rushed for over 200 yards in three of their first four games this season. Cooper has surpassed the century mark in four straight games, with Wofford accounting for over 100 yards in two of the four games.
- The fourth quarter comeback win was the first since the Lions trailed at Angelo State, 33-31, entering the fourth on October 11, 2014.
- The Lions continue to be one of the nation's best on special teams ... The KOR unit ranks fifth in the NCAA averaging 30.4 yards per game, while the KR defense ranks fourth in the NCAA allowing just 10.65 yards per game ... The Lions punt return defense ranks 11th in the NCAA allowing just .75 yards per return.
 
About the Series against the Texans
- The two teams meet for 24th time with A&M-Commerce leading the all-time series 12-11 ... A&M-Commerce is 6-5 in away games against the Texans counting a 22-20 win over then No. 23 Tarleton State on October 26, 2013 ... The Lions are on a three-game win streak against the Texans.
- The Lions routed the Texans behind the play of back up quarterback Deric Davis who after his performance was named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week ... Davis completed 24 of his 32 passes for 324 yards and two TDs  in the first meeting in 2014 ... In the second meeting, the Lions held on for a 56-49 win on a goal line stand.
- The Texans have won 11 of the last 15 meetings in the series including a streak of seven games from 1997 to 2005.
 
About Tarleton State
- The Texans enter the game after a 63-46 loss on the road at Midwestern State ... The Mustangs led 49-17 late in the 3rd quarter to put the game away.
- The Texans give up 50 points per game on the season, while only scoring 39.3 points per game.
- Daniel McCants leads the team averaging 74.67 yards per game on the ground ... The Texans average 192.0 yards rushing per game.
- Zed Woerner has completed 84 of his 128 passes for six TDs and two INTs on the season ... Woerner averages 278.67 passing yards per game, while the team averages 303.3 yards per game through.
- Le'Nard Meyers averages 116 yards receiving per game and has caught a team-high two touchdowns on the season.
- The Texans are coached by Cary Fowler in his fifth season at the helm of the program.
