Burton's CornerWhen asked about:
…the Lions shooting performance.…"I feel good finally. We shot the ball how we know we are capable of shooting both from the floor, and from the three-point line. They gave us uncontested looks at the three and our girls knocked them down. We still have areas of improvement but came a long way as it relates to sharing a ball and finding the open man which translated into 19 assists. As a team, I am proud of how we played team basketball."
…the Lions defensive performance.…"We defended well tonight, which is a big reason why we were able to score the way we did. I was very impress. We played a team that can really shoot the ball so we had a big emphasis on guarding the three-point line. We have done well this year at forcing teams into turnovers but did not capitalize. However, tonight we did not just force turnovers but capitalized on them and turn them into points. Every time they tried to make a run we answered back. Tonight we played 40 minutes for the first time."
…Gabby Scott's performance.…"I am very proud of her but not from a shooting stand point rather a leadership standpoint. Last year, she was a scorer for us and that was what we needed her to be. But this year we need her to lead. For her to come off of the bench as a senior and have a performance like this scoring 28 points as well as keeping her teammates engaged shows maturity. She is stepping up in ways that everyone else may not see such as her leadership and that is what I am proud of. We need her to continue that for us to be successful this season."
