Turning PointThe Lions five-point run in the third set turned into a third set win and ignited the Lions to win the next two sets to win the match.
HOW IT HAPPENEDSet 1Southern Nazarene dominated the Lions in the first set leading by as much as 11 points. The Crimson Storm won the set 25-11.
Set 2The Lions continued to struggle in the second set with Southern Nazarene biggest lead being six points.
Sydney Reyes had two kills late to cut the lead down 27-20. Unfortunately, kills by Southern Nazarene's McKenna Qualls and Elyse Berlin brought the morale down for the Lions.
Summer Alford committed an attack error that ended the set 25-20 as the Lions go down two games to one.
Set 3The Lions worked hard to force another game and avoid being the second consecutive sweep for Southern Nazarene. The Lions were down 11-9 until the Lions went on a five-point run to take the lead. The Lions never trailed again and won the set 25-17.Â
Set 4A&M-Commerce started the set behind and dropped to an early 3-0 deficit but soon erased it and took over the lead for majority of the set. Late in the set,
Courtney Tate got a big service ace to make the score 24-17. The Lions won the set 25-17 after a service error by Hannah Davis.
Set 5The score went back and forth all set.
Courtney Tate made a clutch kill giving the Lions the biggest lead of the set at 9-7 forcing a Southern Nazarene timeout. Courtney Bowie's attack error after the timeout fueled the Lions and
Layne Little threw down a big kill extending the lead to 11-7 and forcing another Crimson Storm timeout. All three of the final points for the Lions came off of attack errors from Southern Nazarene. Lions win final set 15-8.
