HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The first set started slow and a little sloppy from both teams. The Lions committed six attacking errors with the final two occurring back-to-back which concluded a 25-23 loss for the Lions. Southeastern Oklahoma State's Arianna Baker had eight kills alone.
Set 2
After trailing 1-4, Taryn Driver puts down a kill that ignites the Lions as they go on a five point run to take the lead 6-4. Later, Layne Little strikes that extends their lead 14-8. The Lions lead by as much as ten points in the set and cruised to a 25-15 victory.
Set 3
The Lions came out of the locker room with high energy and jumped out to a 8-4 lead against the Savage Storm. Overall the Lions came held on to the momentum of this match as well as the lead. Summer Alford saw action for the first time towards the end of the third set where she immediately contributed by recording consecutive kills. Following the kills, Alford and Jaslyn Wacker had a beautiful block to end the set 25-19.
Set 4
The Lions started off strong after Hannah Dykstra gave the Lions four straight points including two consecutive aces when they were down 0-3. The Lions lead 21-15 before the Storm began to make it tough for the Lions to close out the set and match. Southeastern Oklahoma State tied the match at 23 and from that point on, both teams traded point for point. Arianna Baker made a service error that tied the set at 26 and gave the Lions just enough energy to finish the job. Delanee Clark brought the hammer down for the lead after a beautiful set by Courtney Tate. Summer Alford and Jaslyn Wacker finished the set with a big block to get the victory for the Lions.
