Turning PointAfter dropping the first set, the Lions win the second set with their highest hitting percentage of the match at .483 striking 15 kills on 29 attempts. The Lions went on to win the following two sets just as they did the first time these two teams met in Durant, Oklahoma.
HOW IT HAPPENEDSet 1The first set started slow and a little sloppy from both teams. The Lions committed six attacking errors with the final two occurring back-to-back which concluded a 25-23 loss for the Lions. Southeastern Oklahoma State's Arianna Baker had eight kills alone.
Set 2After trailing 1-4,
Taryn Driver puts down a kill that ignites the Lions as they go on a five point run to take the lead 6-4. Later,
Layne Little strikes that extends their lead 14-8. The Lions lead by as much as ten points in the set and cruised to a 25-15 victory.
Set 3The Lions came out of the locker room with high energy and jumped out to a 8-4 lead against the Savage Storm. Overall the Lions came held on to the momentum of this match as well as the lead.
Summer Alford saw action for the first time towards the end of the third set where she immediately contributed by recording consecutive kills. Following the kills, Alford and
Jaslyn Wacker had a beautiful block to end the set 25-19.
Set 4The Lions started off strong after
Hannah Dykstra gave the Lions four straight points including two consecutive aces when they were down 0-3. The Lions lead 21-15 before the Storm began to make it tough for the Lions to close out the set and match. Southeastern Oklahoma State tied the match at 23 and from that point on, both teams traded point for point. Arianna Baker made a service error that tied the set at 26 and gave the Lions just enough energy to finish the job.
Delanee Clark brought the hammer down for the lead after a beautiful set by
Courtney Tate.
Summer Alford and
Jaslyn Wacker finished the set with a big block to get the victory for the Lions.

Southeastern Oklahoma State had nine receiving errors to A&M-Commerce two in the match Friday, September 25.
A&M-Commerce has totaled 15 aces this year against Southeastern Oklahoma State and only have three reception errors.

The Lions have an all-time record of 40-11 against the Javelinas including a 27-7 record in conference and 18-4 when playing at the Field House.
