San Angelo, Texas –
De'Andre Carson delivered the biggest performance of his Lion career with 20 points as A&M-Commerce notched its ninth straight win topping No. 4 Angelo State 93-88 Saturday night on the road in a Lone Star Conference game in the Junell Center.
Turning Point- Trailing by three points, 80-77, with 2:41 left to play Everrtt Pleasant scored back-to-back buckets to spark the Lions on a 10-0 run over a two-minute span.

- A&M-Commerce picked up its first win over a top 5 team since topping Tarleton State at home to close out the 2013-14 season on March 2. The Lions have reeled off six wins against top 25 teams in the last three seasons.
- It was the first road win for the Lions in San Angelo since February 9, 2013, a 96-90 win.
- The Lions opened LSC play with consecutive wins for the first time since the 2012-13 season when A&M-Commerce defeated Abilene Christian 90-88 and Angelo State 75-58 to start conference play.

Summary1st Half- A&M-Commerce opened the game with a 6-0 run thanks to four points from White before, Angelo State responded to knot the game at six with 16:45 left in the half.
- With the Lions trailing, 17-15, back-to-back threes from Carson and Jones sparked a 13-5 A&M-Commerce run that saw the Lions pull out to a seven-point lead, 28-21, with 8:45 left in the half.
- The Lions stayed just out of reach before extending the margin out to a first-half high, 15 points following six straight points from Fofang with 1:20 left before the break.
- ASU hit a three, but the Lions answered with a layup by Carson to take a 14-point, 52-38, advantage into the half.
- The Lions shot a 53 percent from the floor in the half, compared to a 34 percent mark in the frame from the Rams. A&M-Commerce made six of its 10 triples compared to ASU's 3-of-10 performance from long range in the opening 20 minutes.
2nd Half- The Lions seemed in control of the contest after taking a 19-point lead, 66-47, with 15:23 remaining, but Angelo State strung together a staggering 28-7 run over the next nine minutes to take a 75-73 lead with 6:38 left to play.
- The two teams traded the lead in a back-and-forth physical affair until the Lions flipped an 80-77 with 2:41 left deficit into an 87-80 lead with 42 seconds remaining thanks to a 10-0 run. Pleasant had four points during the spurt and Carson applied the dagger with a triple from the wing.
- Owens hit 6-of-8 free throws in the waning seconds to seal the 93-88 upset win for the Lions.
What's Next?- The Lions stay on the road with a midweek game at Cameron on Wednesday, January 13. Cameron plays West Texas Sunday in Lawton before welcoming the Lions into Aggie Gym on Wednesday. The Aggies are 9-6 on the season and 2-1 in LSC play.
