KINGSVILLE - The Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball team picked up a come-from-behind conference win over Texas A&M University-Kingsville Friday night. After dropping the first two sets, the Lions rallied to win the final three sets. The set scores were 17-25, 19-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-10.

The win brings the Lions to 15-11 on the season and 9-6 in the Lone Star Conference. Kingsville falls to 19-7 on the season and 9-5 in the Lone Star Conference.

The Lions finish their three-match road trip Tuesday night as they take on Cameron University. The match begins at 7 p.m. at The Aggie Gym in Lawton, Okla.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The win was the second in as many weeks where the Lions rallied from two sets down to win.

- Jaslyn Wacker had four service aces in the match. The Lions had six aces, their eighth consecutive match with at least that many.

- Krystal Faison led A&M-Kingsville with 16 kills. She also had four service aces. Ashley Bukowski had 14 kills and Lexi Wick had 13 for the Javelinas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Little scored the first three points for the Lions with three kills in the first six points. With the first set tied at four, the Javelinas took control of the first set, rattling off six of the next seven points to take a five-point lead. Five of the six points came off of Lion errors.

Driver and Little both had four kills in the set to keep within striking distance, but Kingsville did not falter. They were led by the arm of Faison, who had five kills in the set. The Javelinas took the first set 25-17.

The second set was a game of runs. The Lions had an early three point run. Kingsville answered back, scoring four of the next five points, again capitalizing on Lion miscues.

The teams traded points until a late rally by the Javelinas shifted the match. With two kills by Wick and an ace by Bukowski, Kingsville opened a five-point lead. The deficit was too much to overcome and the Lions fell 25-19 in the second set.

Wick had five kills in the set to propel the Javelinas. Jaryn Wacker had four kills in the set to lead A&M-Commerce.

The Lions fell behind quickly in the third set. After taking three of the first five points, A&M-Commerce proceeded to lose 10 of the next 12 points to fall behind 12-5.

But the Lions wouldn't let the rally faze them. After a timeout, the hitting trio of Little, Driver and Jaryn Wacker went to work. They each had three kills in the set and service aces aided the Lion cause.

They slowly chipped away from the lead, outscoring the Javelinas nearly two-to-one to knot the game up at 20.

This time the Lions gained a lead. They had two set points at 24-22 but Kingsville wouldn't surrender easily. They needed extra points to decide the set, but the Lions prevailed, taking the third set 26-24.

Gaining confidence from their rally in the third set, the Lions kept their foot on the gas to start the fourth set, scoring six-unanswered points to jump out to a quick lead. Jaslyn Wacker had two service aces in the rally and Driver added two kills.

But the Javelinas answered back. Down 9-4, they went on a rally of their own, scoring eight of the next nine points to take a 12-10 lead. Behind an ace by Faison and four attacking errors, the Javelinas took the momentum back.

That shift was short lived. The Lions went on another run, scoring five of the next six points to take the lead back.

The teams traded points before the Javelinas had a four-point run to take a 21-19 lead. Jaryn Wacker proceeded to go on a tear, making three kills in the final six points as the Lions scored six of the final seven points to send the match to a deciding fifth set.

The Lions again started hot, scoring six of the first seven points in the final set. Jaslyn Wacker had an ace and Driver had two kills to give A&M-Commerce the lead.

The Javelinas tried to make a game of it, scoring three-straight to cut the lead to two points. But the Lions finished strong, pushing their lead to six late. A&M-Commerce took the final set 15-10.
