Commerce, Texas – A&M-Commerce shot 50 percent from the floor and saw four Lions score in double figures, but came up on the short end of a 90-80 loss to Angelo State Saturday in The Field House in a Lone Star Conference contest.
Turning Point- With A&M-Commerce leading 28-26 with 6:48 left in the first half, Angelo State closed out the opening frame with a 17-7 run to take a 43-35 lead into the break.
Highlights-
Jeremy Jones paced the Lions with 18 points after going 7-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-7 from behind the arc.

Bryant Crowder followed with a double-double with 16 point and 10 rebounds. Crowder was 8-of-12 from the floor.

Ronnie White followed with 15 points each.
- Adams flirted with a triple double after adding eight assists and six rebounds to go along with his 15 points. While, meanwhile, was an efficient 7-of-8 from the floor. He also hauled in eight boards.
- Angelo State saw five players score in double figures led by Thomas Tshikaya who scored 20 points off the bench. The Ram benched outscored the Lions 24-7.
- The Lions outshot the Rams 50 percent to 44 percent from the floor and from behind the arc in the game, 35 percent to 33 percent. However, ASU went 14-of-20 for 70 percent from the charity stripe, while A&M-Commerce converted on six of its 12 attempts from the line.
- Angelo State controlled the boards to a tune of 45-38.
- The Lions were forced into 14 turnovers that resulted in 16 points for the Rams, while Angelo State's eight turnovers led to just eight A&M-Commerce points.
Inside the box score- The loss drops the Lions to 16-8 on the season and 5-6 in the LSC. It also moves the Lions down to sixth place in the LSC standings. ASU meanwhile finds itself in a three-way tie for second at 7-4 in league play and 19-4 overall.
- Jones picked up his 15th double-digit game of the season and the fourth time he has led the Lions in scoring with his 18 points.
- Crowder earned his team-leading fourth double-double of the season and his first since January 2 against Central Christian College. It also marked his first double-double in LSC play and the second of the season for the Lions after
Everrett Pleasant had 23 points and 10 rebounds against Midwestern State on January 16.
- Crowder's 10 rebounds led the Lions on the glass for the seventh time this year.
- Crowder continues to climb the Lions' single-season blocks list. After Saturday's game he has 70 swats for third place on the list. He needs five to pass Christian Macauley's 74 blocks in 2013-14 for second place and 15 to catch Lee Johnson who had 84 blocks in 1978-79.

JR Owens converted a three-point play for the Lions at the 6:48 mark. Angelo State knotted the game for the eighth time with a dunk to start a half-closing 17-7 run. The surge gave the game its 12th and final lead change and gave the Rams a 43-35 lead at the half.
2nd Half- The Lions cut the lead down to four points, 49-45, two minutes into the half, but ASU answered the bell pushing the margin back to 10 points, 61-51, with 13:27 left to play.
- A&M-Commerce cut the gap down to four points two more times, but were never able to get the game down to one possession before the Rams took their largest lead of the game, 80-66, with 4:31 left.
- The Rams stayed out of reach before taking the comfortable 10 point, 90-80, win over the Lions.
What's Next?- The Lions hit the road for to visit cross state conference rival West Texas, who is one of the three times knotted for second in the conference at 7-4. The Buffs sport a 19-8 overall record after suffering an 84-75 loss on the road at No. 25 Midwestern State. The loss snapped the Buffs seven-game winning streak.
