Lions Travel to Cross-State LSC Counterpart WT Wednesday

Commerce, Texas – The A&M-Commerce men's basketball team heads west for the date with West Texas A&M Wednesday night with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. in a Lone Star Conference showdown.

- A&M-Commerce enters the game at 16-8 overall and 5-6 in the LSC after a 90-80 loss the Angelo State for the Lions second straight loss. The Lions lost to Kingsville that snapped a four-game winning streak that including two wins on the road over ranked teams -- Tarleton State and Midwestern State.
- The MSU win was the first time since 2003-04 the Lions won a road game in the series.
- The win over then ranked No. 22 Tarleton State marked the first time in program history the Lions have knocked off two ranked teams on their home courts ... A&M-Commerce defeated then ranked No. 4 Angelo State 93-88 on January 9.
- The Lions had a  nine-game winning streak that was the longest since a nine-game streak in 2004-05.
- A&M-Commerce has sevens wins over top 25 teams in the last three years after knocking off No. 4 Angelo State and No. 22 Tarleton State.
- The Lions defeated Southwestern College 111-60 marking the program's 10th 50-point margin of victory ... It was the 11th highest margin of victory in the NCAA DII on the season ... The last time A&M-Commerce won by 50 or more points was in 2005-06 when the Lions defeated Paul Quinn by 51 points, 104-53 ... The largest margin of victory for the Lions came in 1986-87 when then East Texas topped Southwestern Assemblies of God by 70 points, 128-58.
- Anthony Adams was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week then followed up with back-to-back LSC Defensive Player of the Weeks ... Byrant Crowder earned Offensive Player of the Week.
- The Lions had a record breaking 132-83 win over Huston-Tilloston ... The Lions set the school record for points in single-game in the win.
- Bryant Crowder leads the Lions with four double-doubles ... All told the Lions have had four players record 11 double-doubles on the season.
- A&M-Commerce is coached by Sam Walker in his 16th season at the helm of the Lions program ... Walker is the program's all-time leader in wins with 266.

A&M-Commerce vs. West Texas A&M:  The Series
- The Lions and Buffs have met 85 times prior to Saturday's game with West Texas A&M holding a 52-33 advantage in the series and a 27-16 lead in LSC games ... WT is the seventh most played opponent in program history.
- The Lions saw their five-game winning streak to the Buffs after an 85-81 loss on January 20 ... The Lions led  by five at the half, but WT came back in the second half for the win.
- Under head coach Sam Walker the Lions are 11-18 against WT.
 
About the Buffs
-  West Texas A&M enters at 19-8 overall and 7-4 in the LSC after an 84-75 loss on the road at Midwestern State in their last game ... The loss snapped WT's six-game winning streak.
-  The Buffs are in a three-way tie for second in the LSC.
- David Chavlovich leads the team averaging 20.2 points per game while shooting 37 percent from three ... Chavlovich leads the LSC in 3-pointers per game averaging 3.7.
