1st HalfIn the rematch against Texas Woman's the Lions showed their claws early as they scored a total of 47 first half points and led the Pioneers 47-41 at the half. The Lions were hot from the floor, ending the first half shooting over 50 percent from the floor (20-of-37) with seven of their nine roster members in the scoring category. The Pioneers were not too shabby with a 41.2 shooting percentage (14-34) from the floor but made only three three-pointers on ten attempts. The Lions also had some defensive pressure applied on the Pioneers by forcing nine turnovers in the first half.
Shomari Harris had 15 points after one half of play and shot 6-of-7 from the floor.
Audrisa Harrison and
Artaejah Gay helped Harris out by scoring eight points each and shot a combined 8-of-13 from the field. Deja Pointer was the Pioneers leading scorer with ten first half points.
2nd HalfThe Lions came out of the locker room still warm and started the quarter on an 8-0 run. A&M-Commerce did not let the Pioneers get too close throughout the second half and led by as much as ten points with three minutes remaining in the game. With the score at 78-68,
Shomari Harris slides through the lane for a layup to tie her single-game high of 19 points, giving the Lions a 12-point lead, the largest of the half. The Lions went on to claim their second straight win with a final score of 88-78.
The Lions finished the game shooting 47.1 percent (33-of-70) from the floor, and 73.1 percent (19-of-26) from the free throw line.
Shomari Harris had a game high of 21 points with
Princess Davis following her with 14 points which were all scored in the second half.
Krystal Pickron put down 12 points, and
Audrisa Harrison and
Artaejah Gay each finished with ten points. Deja Pointer had a team high of 19 points for the Pioneers and Alexis Nezianya added 15 points. Emily Spector and Bri'anna Gray both finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.
