5th InningLuci Ponce showed her power with a two-run homer bumping up the score for the Lions. The Lions continued to push in the inning when Sturm slugged one over the fence for another homer in the fifth extending the Lion lead to 5-0.

6th InningHatton doubled to left field and earned the RBI when Nunez scored. Oppenheim followed by driving in Hatton with a double pushing the lead out to 7-0.

7th InningDanielle Guerra scored after pinch running for Sturm who doubled to a perfect spot between third base and left field. Guerra crossed the plate for the game's final run when
Haley Colwell singled up the middle.

Game 2: A&M-Commerce 16, Eastern New Mexico 1Turning PointThe Lions scored five runs in the top of the third to put a seven run deficit between themselves and the Greyhounds. In the fourth inning, the Lions followed up their seven runs with nine more solidifying the win.

Inside the Box ScoreAs a team A&M-Commerce surpassed 100 stolen bases for the season currently sitting at 103. The Lions also surpassed the 200-run mark for the season; platting 215 runs in only 26 games.

Cherie Jackson went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a home run.

Ponce went 3-for-3, scored three times and got four RBI thanks to a grand slam.

Nunez had three at bats and three hits; she scored two runs and had two RBI.

Brittany Woolridge pitched the entire game and got the win after five innings. She is 8-2 for her freshmen season so far.

Summary1st InningThe ball got rolling, when Hatton walked, Sturm hit a double and Hatton came home putting one run on the board for the first inning.

2nd InningColwell singled, and scored on Nunez's single to center, taking to score to 2-0 in the second.

3rd InningThe Lions platted five runs putting them ahead 7-0. Oppenheim, Ponce, Sturm, Colwell and Nunez each crossed the plate and lighting up the board.

4th InningGaining an even bigger lead the Lions scored nine runs on five hits and went through the entire lineup.

What's Next?The Lions play second half of series against Greyhounds on March 12, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. then head back to Commerce on March 18 and 19 for a series at home vs. West Texas.
