Richie Bruister claimed his 400th and 401st career wins as the Lions swept the University of Texas – Permian Basin, 11-1 and 8-2, Tuesday afternoon.
Game 1: A&M-Commerce 11, UTPB 1Turning PointIn the top of the third, the Lions topped off their 2-0 lead with three more runs en route to an 11-1 win over the Falcons.
Inside the Box ScoreBaylea Higgs topped the batting for the Lions going 1-for-4 scoring with two runs and an RBI.
Kylene Hatton went 2-for-4 and and scored two runs.
Cherie Jackson went 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Monica Cherry pounded the only homer of the game.
Brittany Woolridge stayed in the circle for all seven innings allowing five hits while recording four strikeouts.

Luci Ponce walked and scored on an illegal pitch. Jackson came around to score on an Oppenheim single.
5th InningCherry homered to give the Lions a 6-0 lead after five.
6th InningThe Falcons answered with a single run in the bottom of the inning.
7th InningJohnna Sturm lead off the inning with a double to left center and
Katie Dean came on to pinch run for Sturm. Oppenheim reached on a fielding error, Nunez walked and Higgs singled up the middle getting two RBI scoring Dean and Oppenheim. Hatton singled and advanced Higgs to third base. Ponce came up to the plate and singled bringing in Higgs. Jackson kept the ball flying and doubled platting Hatton. The final run for the Lions came when
Haley Colwell singled bringing in Ponce.
Game 2: A&M-Commerce 8, UTPB 2Turning PointIn the top of the fourth the Lions scored three runs building a six-run deficit for the Falcons. It was a margin UTBP could not overcome falling 8-2 to the Lions.
Inside the Box ScoreHatton had a hot bat going 3-for-5 at the plate scoring three runs with two RBI and one homer.
Selena Rima pitched seven innings, faced 29 batters and had nine strikeouts tying the single-game high on the season for the Lions.

2nd InningColwell reached on a fielder's choice and scored on Nunez's single to center.
3rd InningJackson reached on a fielder's choice and
Kayla Kilcrease pinch ran for her. Kilcrease scored when Colwell reached on an error to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.
4th InningHiggs singled to pitcher and scored on Hatton's single. Hatton scored on an error. Kilcrease singled to right field and scored on the same error on which Hatton scored extending the margin out to 6-0.
5th InningThe Falcons scored two runs but it wasn't enough to close the deficit with the Lions hot bats.
7th InningThe final two runs were sore when Hatton doubled and scored on Sturm's single to right field. Ponce earned her way on with a walk and scored on Colwell's single.
