ROCKWALL– The Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team lost a heartbreaking 1-0 decision to Texas Woman's in overtime on Thursday night. The teams played a hard-fought scoreless regulation before the Pioneers scored in the first overtime period.
The loss brings the Lions to 8-7-0 on the season and 5-6-0 in the Lone Star Conference. TWU improves to 10-5-2 and 7-2-2 in conference play.
The Lions return to action on Friday with a match against MSU Texas. The match will begin at 8 p.m. at Kyle Field in Rockwall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions had an early shot that went wide of the net. In the 14th minute, TWU put the first shot on goal of the match. It was saved by Duty. Givens then had a shot on goal saved in the 21st minute.
TWU took four shots in the middle portion of the half, but the Lion defense kept the shots from going on goal. McDonald then had a long shot fired at the goal but it was saved in the 34th minute. The teams went into halftime scoreless.
Munguia had an early shot on goal in the second half that was saved. The Lions forced multiple corner kicks early in the half but could not capitalize. TWU had shots on goal in the 70th minute and the 79th minute but Duty saved both. The Lions were held without a shot for the final 23 minutes of the half. The match went into overtime.
In the overtime period, the Pioneers continued to apply pressure. Duty saved a shot in the 96th minute but just 45 seconds later, TWU had a throw in that went over the head of the Lion defense. The TWU player had just the keeper to beat and the ball found the net to end the game.
