RICHARDSON – Texas A&M University-Commerce student-athletes
Darius Williams and
Julia Seigerroth have been selected to the Lone Star Conference Athletic Performance All-Conference team on Tuesday.
The all-conference team recognizes student-athletes who excel in work ethic, dedication to process, attendance, communication, leadership, and growth. The individual awards are voted upon by the league's athletic performance staff.
Williams (Arlington Heights) is a senior defensive back on the football team and an all-Lone Star Conference selection in 2021. His current maxes are 315 lbs in the power clean, 420 lbs in the Front Squat, and 270 lbs in the Incline Press.
"Darius has demonstrated outstanding work ethic and perseverance through injury over the course of his career. His passion for his teammates' success stands out," said senior director of sports performance,
Joe Caldwell. "He is very coachable and sets a great example of how our athletes need to train and operate on a consistent basis."
Seigerroth (Jonkoping, Sweden) is a senior member of the women's track & field team, specializing in the hurdles. Battling three severe leg injuries during her career, she maxes 23.5 inches in the vertical jump, 187 lbs in the power clean, 242 lbs in the back squat, and 132 plbs in the bench press.
"Julia is a pleasure to work with and sets a great example of how our athletes need to train and operate," said director of sports performance,
Lance Farmer. "She has persevered through injuries during her career as well."
