COMMERCE – Alyssa LeBlanc tossed her second no hitter of the season in game two on Wednesday at the John Cain Family Softball Complex to secure a sweep for the No. 19 ranked Texas A&M University-Commerce softball team over the Henderson State Reddies by scores of 6-3 and 1-0, respectively.
LeBlanc (Katy) allowed just one base runner all evening on her way to her third no hitter of her career, becoming the only player in program history to have three no hitters. In game one,
Emily Otto (Lamar Consolidated) pitched a complete game to win her 17
th game of the year.
The Lions improve to 35-11 on the season and drop the Reddies to 12-36. They pick up two more in-region wins after being ranked No. 6 in the first South Central region rankings earlier in the day.

GAME 1: No. 19 A&M-Commerce 6, Henderson State 3
After three scoreless innings, the Reddies' Abbie Moore opened up the scoring with a two-run home run to left center in the fourth. The Lions answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, beginning with a solo home run from
Avery Boley (Fort Worth – Nolan Catholic).

Sabrina Anguiano (Riverside, Calif.) and a double by
Uxua Modrego (Burlada, Spain),
MacKenzie Dugi (St. Hedwig – East Central) drove in Anguiano with a single to left. Modrego scored on a throwing error as the Reddies were trying to tag out Dugi, who stole second. A similar play allowed Dugi to score as a throw to get
Madison Schaefer (Frisco – Independence) went into the outfield.
Destiny Whitburn (Dodd City – Ector) scored from third in the fifth on a bunt groundout by Anguiano and Schaefer added a solo home run in the sixth.
MADISON SCHAEFER HOME RUN HIGHLIGHT
Monica Monreal singled in an unearned run in the sixth for the third run of the game for Henderson State.
Schaefer and Boley combined for four of the seven hits for the Lions. Schaefer had two stolen bases, while
Alina Jasso (San Benito) and Dugi had one each. Krystal Lindsey had two of the five hits for the Reddies.
Otto struck out eight on her way to winning her 17
th game of the season. She allowed two earned runs, five hits, and a walk. Lindsey took the loss on the circle, allowing two earned runs in four innings on five hits and three walks.
GAME 2: No. 19 A&M-Commerce 1, Henderson State 0
The Lions scored their first run of the game without a hit in the third. Dugi earned a two-out walk and came around to score after a fly ball by Schaefer was dropped by the Reddies' right fielder.
This is LeBlanc's third career no hitter, becoming the first pitcher in program history to throw three no hitters and second to have multiple no hitters in the same season. She threw a five-inning perfect game against Fort Lewis on February 18 in Canyon.
On Wednesday, she struck out seven and allowed just one walk. The lone base runner for the Reddies was caught stealing, so LeBlanc faced the minimum number of hitters.
Boley had the lone hit for the Lions, a ground rule double in the fourth. Monreal allowed three walks, a hit, and no earned runs in the complete game loss.
UP NEXT
The Lions host Cameron and Oklahoma Christian this weekend to close out the home portion of the regular season schedule. The Aggies come into town on Friday at 4 p.m. and the Eagles are in Commerce as part of the Senior Day festivities on Sunday at Noon.
