FRISCO – Texas A&M University-Commerce football student-athletes
Emmanuel Adagbon and
Sean-Krystoff King have earned Southland Conference All-Academic honors on Tuesday afternoon.
King (Humble – Summer Creek) is selected as a defensive back, while Adagbon (Mesquite Horn) is named as a kicker on the 25-student-athlete team named by the Southland.
In 2023, King played in nine games, totaling 277 return yards, with a long of 72, and seven punt returns. He also made 19 tackles, forcing one fumble, which he recovered. King is a dean's list recipient, graduating last December with a degree in computer science.
Adagbon also received dean's list honors and is majoring in public health. He was 16 for 18 in point-after attempts last season, while also drilling five field goals. In the win over McNeese, he was 2 for 2 in field goal tries.
The team was voted upon by the head coach, sports information director, and an academic/compliance staff member from each school. To be eligible for all-academic distinction, an athlete must hold a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA through the semester prior to the sport's championship, completed at least one full academic year at the school prior to the current season, and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions during the most recently completed season.
First team all-conference selections who meet the qualifications are automatically selected to the team.
