LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The East Texas A&M University women's golf team is in 17
th place following the first round of the Diamante Intercollegiate on Sunday at the Diamante Country Club.
The Lions are led by
Marie Baertz, who is in a tie for 13
th place with a score of 71 in the first round on Sunday. The team score of 303 put together by the Lions puts them four strokes back of Oral Roberts and 21 ahead of SFA. Boston College has a three-stroke lead over Memphis with a score of 278.
Behind Baertz,
Marie Naeher (Neuenbuerg, Germany) is tied for 51
st with a score of 74, but she is competing as an individual this week.
Becky Baberg (Asendorf, Germany) is tied for 65
th place with a first-round score of 76, while
Gimena Errecart (Mar Del Plata, Argentina),
Linnea Olsson (Beddingestrand, Sweden), and
Tais Moreno (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) are all tied for 87
th place with each shooting a 78 on Sunday.
Memphis' Claire Swathwood and Boston College's Frances Kim have the lead atop the player leaderboard with each shooting a round of 66 on Sunday.
