STEPHENVILLE – The East Texas A&M University men's basketball team prepared for the 2025-26 season with an exhibition contest at Tarleton on Saturday night at the brand new EECU Center.
 
The two rival programs played two halves on Saturday night, with the scores being reset at halftime. The Texans took the first half 35-21, while the Lions won the second half 29-26.
 
In the game, Vinny Sigona (Prestonwood Christian Academy) had 18 points on 6 for 10 shooting, while Gianni Hunt (Lakewood, Calif.) added 11 points, shooting 3 for 6 from the field. Off the bench, Ronnie Harrison (Forney) added eight points.
 
East Texas A&M enters its final week of preseason preparations before the season opener at home on November 3.
 
The Lions host the Lion Mania tip-off event on Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the Hunt Regional Healthcare court in the Field House and then welcome UT Dallas for an exhibition contest on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Admission for all fans is free on both days.
