COMMERCE – The East Texas A&M University volleyball team fell in three sets to the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros on Saturday afternoon to close out the regular season on the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court in the Field House via set scores of 25-10, 25-19, 25-17.
The Lions end the regular season with a record of 9-18 overall and 7-19 in Southland Conference play, tying for seventh place in the standings and will be the eighth seed in next week's Southland Conference Tournament, hosted here in Commerce.
The Vaqueros won a share of the Southland title with the win on Saturday and finished the regular season with a record of 20-7 overall and 15-1 in SLC action.
East Texas A&M takes on top-seeded SFA in the first round of the Southland Tournament on Friday night.
SENIOR DAY
Prior to the match, the Lions honored their six graduating seniors as well as student manager Jared Maeker. The graduating seniors were

MJ Klaumann (Emerald Isle, N.C.),

UTRGV had a hitting percentage of .407 in the match and led for all but one point in the first set. The Lions had a lead late in the second set, but UTRGV closed it out on a 10-3 run to take the second set.
Gracie Campbell (Klein Oak) had team-best eight kills for the Lions, while
Haley Mullaney (Victory Christian Academy) added 19 assists and 10 digs for a double-double.
Jade Washington (Waco – Midway) totaled 12 digs.
