Campbell's kill to make it 23-16 put Mullaney at the service line, and ET won the next six points, with Scott's block, Mosley's kill, two Mullaney aces and Brown's kill pulling ET within 23-22. The Vaqueros stopped the run on Petkovic's kill for set point, then Carmina Tijerina served an ace to finish the set 25-22.

After the Vaqueros opened with two service aces in the third, ET answered with a Scott kill, a Jade Washington (Waco – Midway) ace and a Vaqueros attack error blocked by Allie Ihloff (Tulsa, Okla.) and Mosley to move in front 3-2. The set stayed tight through a 15-13 ET lead on Samantha Mosley's kill, but the Vaqueros scored the next six points to go ahead 19-15.

Campbell's kill and a Vaqueros error cut the margin to 19-17, only for the Vaqueros to move back ahead 23-17. Brown had three kills and Ihloff served an ace in a four-point ET push to 23-21, but the Vaqueros reached set point on a kill and ended the set 25-21 on a block.
