ET was held scoreless after a 1-1 first half despite finishing with a 19-16 shot advantage and matching the Demons with eight shots on goal.
"We played with a lot of grit tonight. It's a difficult loss because we created more chances and outshot our opponent, but we must do a better job of finishing in front of goal," said coach
Ashley Gordon. "We'll regroup, learn from this match, and get ready for a tough matchup against Nicholls on Sunday."
The Lions opened the first half with a goal from
Allyson Reed (Cleburne) goal off an
Addisen Ramirez (Waxahachie) assist at 2:50 and kept creating chances, including Ramirez's shot off the right woodwork at 25:04. ET added pressure with multiple corners and five shots during a late-half stretch, but NSU tied it on Iesha Rollins' goal in the 37th minute. The half ended even at 1-1.
