COMMERCE – The East Texas A&M University soccer team has announced its 2026 Southland Conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon, which includes hosting the Southland Tournament in Commerce.
The Lions, who have finished in the top four in each of the past four seasons, are hosting the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time. The last time the Lions played a postseason match at home was in the spring season of 2021.
Prior to the conference tournament, the Lions have a 10-match conference slate playing each of the rest teams in the Southland once during the regular season.
The conference schedule begins on September 17 at UIW, followed by the first conference home match of the season on September 24 against Southeastern and then Lamar comes to town on October 1.
The Lions begin a two-match road trip at the defending conference champions on October 8 at Northwestern State and play at Nicholls on October 11. After returning home to host A&M-Corpus Christi on October 15, the Lions head back on the road at HCU, the defending SLC Tournament Champions, on October 22.
The final stretch of the regular season begins with a home match against McNeese on October 25, followed by a trip down to UTRGV on November 1 and the regular season closes out at home against SFA on November 5.
The seven-team Southland Conference Tournament runs from November 10-15 at the Lion Soccer Field.
The winner of the Southland Tournament clinches an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, which begins on November 20. This year's Women's College Cup takes place in Cary, North Carolina, on December 11-14.
