COMMERCE – A brace from
Allyson Reed helped the East Texas A&M University soccer team defeat Southeastern 3-0 on Thursday night at the Lion Soccer Field.
The Lions scored all three goals in the first half and finished with a 21-10 advantage in shots, which is a new season high. This performance marked their first win by three or more goals since a 4-1 victory over Little Rock in the 2025 season opener.
ET is now 2-5-3 overall and 1-1-0 in Southland conference play, ending a winless streak of nine matches. SLU is 5-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play. Thursday was the annual Hispanic Heritage Month match for East Texas A&M.
East Texas A&M turned early pressure into a 1-0 lead at 9:05, when Reed (Cleburne) scored off an assist from
Lena Junior (Frisco – Liberty) on a corner kick. Reed set a season high with two goals, adding another at 34:19 from
Isabella Queneau (Lucas), and
Kristen Sueltz (The Colony) scored at 42:42 off an assist from
Alyssa Cox (Plano Senior).
Emmy Finlinson (Eagle Mountain, Utah) made three saves as the Lions took a 3-0 lead into halftime. ET kept SLU scoreless in the second half, maintaining the 3-0 scoreline through the final whistle. This victory also ensures that they remain undefeated against Southeastern.
Reed led the Lions with 10 shots while putting three on goal. Finlinson made four saves over 90 minutes and recorded the shutout, her second of the season. Queneau tallied an assist and added two shots, including one on goal.
Thursday was the first assists of the season for Junior, Queneau, and Cox.
