Aston-Ryan Walter serves as the Assistant Running Backs Coach for the Lions.
Walter was a two year starter at running back for Rice University. In 2019 he led the team in rushing, scoring, total touchdowns, and rushing touchdowns. Walter joined his twin brother, Austin Walter, in leading the Owls in rushing in back-to-back seasons, first time in Rice History, and first at the FBS level since 1997. In 2019 he was voted the team’s Offensive MVP.
Walter played his high school ball at Crosby High School. He was a three year letterman at Quarterback, 2012 Newcomer of the Year, 2013 1st Team All-District, and 2014 Offensive MVP (District 19-4A). A member of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s Texas Top 300 and the Houston Chronicle Top 100.
Walter received his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Rice University (2019). He is single
