Bob Connelly joined the East Texas A&M football staff prior to the 2025 season as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator, bringing more than three decades of coaching experience at the collegiate, professional, and developmental levels.
Most recently, Connelly served as offensive line coach at Austin College in 2024 before joining the Houston Roughnecks of the United Football League. He brings extensive experience developing offensive linemen and building successful rushing attacks throughout his career.
Prior to Austin College, Connelly spent five seasons at Northern Arizona, serving as offensive line coach and run game coordinator while also holding the role of deputy head coach. During his tenure with the Lumberjacks, he helped develop multiple All-Big Sky offensive linemen and played a key role in the growth of the program's offensive identity.
Connelly has also coached at some of the nation's top programs, including Arizona State, where he served as an assistant coach in 2012, and USC, where he coached the offensive line and helped the Trojans capture the Pac-12 South Championship in 2015. He previously spent four seasons at UTEP as associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator, and offensive line coach, helping lead one of the nation's top offensive attacks.
Before UTEP, Connelly spent four seasons coaching the offensive line at Alabama, where he helped produce multiple All-SEC performers and contributed to one of the top rushing offenses in the SEC. His coaching career also includes stops at Washington State, UCLA, Texas A&M, CSUN, San Jose State, and Cisco Junior College.
Connelly was an All-Conference offensive guard as a junior and senior at East Texas A&M in 1992 and 1993. He was the school's male athlete of the year as a senior. He also was a 3-time Academic all-conference pick.
He received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and sports studies from East Texas A&M and then a master's degree in health, physical education and recreation. He and his wife, Racquel, have 2 daughters, Taylor and Paige.
