Ed Roberts

Roberts comes to Commerce after spending eight years coaching Arkansas high school football in the state's second-largest district and 5A classification. During that period he served as both offensive and defensive coordinator, recording the highest amount of points scored by Pulaski Mills in his first season as offensive coordinator. During his time at Mills he served as head coach for both girls and boys track and qualified the most student-athletes for the state meet in school history. He also served as assistant athletics director for all sports.

Roberts played Division I football at Western Illinois from 2005-09. In his senior season, he was one of five on the team to receive the Coaches' Appreciation Award. In his last collegiate game, he recorded season-high nine tackles vs. South Dakota State and returned an interception 20 yards. He finished with 46 tackles and two pass break-ups.

As a high school quarterback, he threw for over 1,000 yards and rushed for over 600 during his senior year, leading Little Rock McClellan with five interceptions as a free safety during his junior campaign. Roberts also excelled in track and field, earning all-conference and all-state honors in the hurdles and triple jump and finishing his high school career with a Arkansas 5A state track championship.

He has a Masters Degree in Sports Administration form Arkansas State.

Ed and his wife Paige have two children together, son Kollin and daughter Shane.
