Hector Dominguez

Hector Dominguez joined the Lion football coaching staff as a graduate assistant to start the 2017 season as a special teams analyst for kickers and punters.

Prior to his coaching career, Dominguez was one of the best punters in all of Division II. During his senior year with the Lions, Dominguez was named a First Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association and was named Second Team All-Super Region and First Team All-LSC. He led the conference with 22 punts left inside the 20 yard line as a senior and was twice named LSC Special Teams Player of the Week. He had seven punts of more than 50 yards, including a 70-yard punt against Western New Mexico. He ranked second in the LSC and 18th in the nation in punt average and did not have a punt blocked.

Prior to his career with the Lions, Dominguez punted at East Los Angeles College. He participated in Chris Sailer's kicking camp during eight consecutive offseasons, under Sailer's lead punt instructor Aaron Perez. He was named a member of Sailer's "Top 12" in both 2013 and 2014.

Dominguez has helped with the Non-Profit group “Snap Hold Kick” based out of the Inland-Empire, and South Los Angeles since 2010. Snap Hold Kick provides free quality kicking lessons for kickers, punters, and snappers who cannot afford to attend the big expensive specialist camps. The Snap Hold Kick Staff is made up of current, and former college/NFL specialists from all divisions.

Dominguez graduated from A&M-Commerce with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in May 2017, becoming the first person in his family to earn a college degree. He is pursuing a master's degree in student affairs. He plans on joining the LAPD after graduating with his master's degree.
