Luke Jaicks enters his second season with the East Texas A&M football team, now serving as the safeties coach for the 2026 season.
He spent the 2025 season on the Lion defensive coaching staff as the cornerbacks coach. Bringing in more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience across the FCS, Division II, Division III, JUCO, and NAIA levels. A former defensive back at Southern Utah and Scottsdale Community College, Jaicks has built a reputation for developing defensive backs, recruiting talent, and coordinating elite defenses.
Over his career as a defensive coordinator, Jaicks' defenses have allowed just 13.3 points per game across 30 contests. At Brevard College, his 2019 defense surrendered only 10.3 points per game, ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring defense across all NCAA divisions, recorded five games without allowing an offensive touchdown, and posted four consecutive shutouts during conference play. His defenses continued their success over the following seasons, earning top-10 national rankings while helping shepherd Brevard as one of the premier defensive programs in Division III football.
Jaicks has coached numerous all-conference performers, an All-American (Joc Pledger), and multiple professional football prospects while serving as a defensive backs coach, defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and special teams coordinator throughout his career. He is also recognized for his emphasis on player development, meditation and mental performance certified.
