Nathan Jester is entering his second year as the tight ends coach for the Lions. Under Jester, Austin Samaha finished the season third in receiving yards, among Southland tight ends, and increased productivity as a group from 38 yards (2022) to 428 yards (2023).
He previously served as an offensive graduate assistant coach during the 2022 season, while also serving as the tight ends coach.
Jester played tight end on the Lions football team from 2019-2021. He graduated in August 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.92 GPA. He is working towards his Master’s degree in 2024.
Jester was a standout football player at Akins High School in Austin, Texas. After graduation he attended Texas State University but decided to enter the business world for seven years. Although he was successful in business, he decided to finish his degree and enrolled at Texas A&M University-Commerce. As a Lion football player, he served as the executive committee chairperson and was nominated as president of the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC). He was a member of the student athletic committee leading A&M-Commerce to become a Division I institution.
Jester is married to Caitlin Jester. They have a beautiful daughter, Maya (10), and welcomed their second child, Rory, in October 2023.
