Payton Pardee

Payton Pardee

Payton Pardee is in his second year on the Lions coaching staff.  He had a stellar year in his first season serving as the outside wide receiver and deep snapper coach. He produced the most dynamic group of receivers in the Lone Star Conference.  Two receivers under his tutelage earned All-Conference honors (Ryan Stokes and Chance Cooper).  In addition, deep snapper Wyatt Leath also was named to the All-Conference team.

Pardee will take over the tight end coaching position this fall.  His task will be to rebuild a powerful unit that lost two lettermen to graduation.  With two returners and a host of incoming transfers and freshmen, the tight end group should again rise to be the most powerful in the LSC.

Pardee is a scholar in video reproduction and analytical graphics. His technical skills and high energy are utilized throughout the Lions program.  In addition, he is quickly earning a reputation as a top recruiter.

Pardee played wide receiver in college for the University of Houston (2015-18). Playing college football in Houston, he witnessed the record setting career of Bailiff at Rice University. He jumped at the chance to join and be mentored by the legendary head coach.

Payton is the grandson of Hall of Fame coach and player Jack Pardee.  His family coaching roots initiated a strong desire to follow his grandfather in the coaching profession. With a background as a Division I football player, having a legendary family history of coaching excellence, and seeing the opportunity to learn from another legendary coach as Bailiff, Pardee is excited about the opportunity with the Lion football team.  Already in his brief career he is proving to follow in Hall of Fame footsteps.

Pardee received his bachelor’s degree (Economics) from Houston in 2019.   He is a 2015 graduate of St. Thomas High School. His mother and father still reside in Houston, where his father is the color analyst for the University of Houston football games and his mother is a realtor.  His brother Luke is a freshman quarterback at TCU.  His sister Ellie is also a Houston graduate and is employed by Texas A&M.

His hobbies include reading, weightlifting and watching film.
