Xavier Adibi enters his second season as the Lions' defensive coordinator in 2020.
Adibi's defensive unit was one of the best in the Lone Star Conference in 2019, leading the league in sacks per game and finishing in the top two in total defense, passing yards allowed, rushing defense, red zone defense, defensive touchdowns, and tackles for loss. Safety Dominique Ramsey was named a first team All-American, and the defense earned four all-region and seven all-LSC honors.
Adibi was hired as defensive coordinator for the Lions in December 2018 after serving as a defensive analyst at Arkansas in the 2018 season.
Adibi was a college standout at Virginia Tech, earning first team AFCA All-American and first team All-ACC honors in 2007, after earning second team All-ACC honors in 2006.
He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft and had a five-year NFL career, playing for Houston, Minnesota, Chicago, and Tennessee.
