East Texas A&M University Athletics

Played in 26 games in his two-year A&M-Commerce career... Recorded 73 tackles, including two tackles for loss and one sack... Also had two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 30 passes defensed... Was a member of two NCAA Playoff teams and was a two-time All-Conference selection.

2019: Honorable Mention All-LSC... Played in all 13 games as a senior... Recorded 39 tackles with one forced fumble, one interception and 16 passes defensed... Recorded three tackles and an interception against A&M-Kingsville (10/5)... Recorded a season-high six tackles and a forced fumble in the team's playoff win over Colorado Mines (11/30).

2018: Honorable Mention All-LSC... Played in all 13 games as a junior... Recorded 33 tackles with two tackles or loss and an interception... Finished seventh in the LSC in passes defensed with 12... Also recovered a fumble... Had five tackles and a sack against Lock Haven (9/29)... Recovered a fumble against West Texas A&M (10/27)... Had an interception against Tarleton (11/17) in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs.

2016 at WT: Played in 11 games, starting 10 as a sophomore... Recorded 49 tackles, including 38 solo tackles... Had nine pass breakups and recovered three fumbles... Also scored on an interception of a two-point conversion.

2015 at WT: Saw action in all 10 games with five starts in the secondary for the Buffs...Tallied 37 total tackles with 26 solo stops...Had a season-high eight tackles against Texas A&M-Commerce and ended the season with five solo stops against Texas A&M-Kingsville...Recorded first career interception for 30 yards against Eastern New Mexico...Had one tackle for loss for two yards, six pass breakups, seven passes defended, along with one fumble return against Texas A&M-Kingsville...Named to LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Prior to Collegiate Career: Dawson played all over the field as he split time between cornerback, safety, punter, quarterback and wide receiver…Played for head coach Andrew Jackson at Austin LBJ…Named first-team all-district as a free safety and quarterback…Member of the National Honor Society…Graduated in the top-10% of his class with a 4.2 GPA…Recipient of the African-American Heritage Award…Also lettered in basketball and track & field.
