Dr. Ijjae Hill joined East Texas A&M University as the Physical Therapist/Assistant Athletic Trainer, Long Term Rehabilitation Specialist for Football and Track & Field in June 2026.

Hill arrived in Commerce following a diverse range of clinical experiences in collegiate athletics, outpatient sports medicine, performance-based rehabilitation settings, and professional football. Most recently, she served as a United Football League Athletic Training Intern with the DC Defenders during the 2026 season, assisting with sports medicine and performance operations. Her athletic training experience also includes serving as an athletic training student at KIPP DC College Preparatory, where she supported the men's basketball, track & field, and cheer programs, as well as completing a clinical rotation with the University of Maryland Football sports medicine staff, gaining experience in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries within a Division I, Big Ten football program. In addition, Hill completed physical therapy clinical experiences in outpatient sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation settings, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and continuity of care across the rehabilitation process.

Hill earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Widener University and her Master of Science in Athletic Training from George Mason University, becoming a dual-credentialed sports medicine professional. Throughout her education and clinical training, she developed expertise in rehabilitation progression, injury management, and long-term athlete development.

A licensed Physical Therapist, certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Functional Dry Needling Level 1 certified clinician, she is passionate about integrating rehabilitation, athletic training, and performance principles to optimize athlete health and return-to-performance outcomes. 
Hill is a national recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Minority Scholarship Fund Award and currently serves on the Representation, Involvement, Solidarity, and Engagement (RISE) Committee for the APTA Sports Academy. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, National Athletic Trainers' Association, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Through her professional service and leadership, Hill is committed to advancing health equity, mentorship and increasing representation within the sports medicine professions, as well as uplifting and creating opportunities for historically underrepresented communities.

A native of Prince George's County, Maryland, Dr. Hill is committed to helping student-athletes achieve peak performance while promoting long-term health, resilience, and career longevity.
