Lions welcomed Jeff Chapman to the coaching staff as assistant coach/director of basketball operations in September 2023. He came to Commerce following stints at Wichita State and Tallahassee Community College.

Chapman spent the past four years as the video coordinator for the Shockers. He built a cloud-based video collection tool that allowed student-athletes to have instant-access to game film, practice film, and scouting videos on their cell phones or computers.

He also assisted with official recruiting efforts including managing the transfer portal and navigating the NCAA Eligibility Center. Chapman also had a stint as a volunteer assistant coach for the Shockers for one season, served as head coach of the Minnetonka High School in Minnesota, and spent one year as an assistant coach at Tallahassee Community College.

Chapman's career on the bench began with a five-year stint as film coordinating manager at Wichita State from 2011-16. He received his bachelors of science in history from Wichita State.
