Josh Ervin joined the A&M-Commerce coaching staff in the winter of the 2015-16 season after a four and a half year stint at Southeastern Illinois College as an assistant coach and the head coach.

Ervin spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant coach at Southeastern Illinois before becoming the head coach in 2011-12 at the age of 25. He coached two freshman of the year during his tenure.

Prior to Southeastern Illinois he was a graduate assistant coach at South Alabama from 2008-10 under head coach Ronnie Arrow.

Ervin, is no stranger to Texas after spending 2003-07 at Texas A&M Corpus Christi as point guard. Ervin was the starting point guard on the Islanders’ 2007 Southland Conference regular season and tournament championship team. He also led Texas A&M CC into the NCAA Tournament that same season.

While with the Islanders, Ervin accounted for 663 points, 311 assists and 124 steals while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 44 percent from three. He also graduated with a degree in business administration in 2007.

Ervin, is a 2003 graduate of Klein Forest High School in Houston, Texas.
