Scott Gray joined the Lion Soccer coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach in July 2026.
Gray was most recently an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Barton Community College. The Cougars advanced all the way to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament on the men’s side with Gray on the staff.
Bringing in over 16 years of playing experience, Gray played for the Glasgow Rangers Football Club in Scotland, including four years as a professional. While at Glasgow Rangers, he was managed by England National team legend Steven Gerrard.
He also competed for the Scotland National team at the youth level.
Gray’s journey in the United States began at Angelina College, being on the squad for two years. The program’s advanced to NJCAA Nationals for the first time in school history while he was in Lufkin.
He then transferred to the University of Rio Grande in Ohio, where the program won the conference title and advanced to the NAIA Tournament in both seasons. He was also named to the all-conference team during his senior season.
Following his collegiate career, he played for the Little Rock Rangers in the United Soccer League (USL) 2, where he was a two-time conference champion, advanced to the playoffs, and was once named to the USL 2 Team of the Month.
Gray graduated with his associates and bachelors degree in sports and exercise science from University of Rio Grande.
