The 2013-14 A&M-Commerce athletic season was filled with a handful of incredible moments, achievements and career milestones. Throughout the summer Lion Athletics will take a look back at the top 15 moments of the year, voted on by athletic administrators and local media members.
Arguably the best storyline of the 2013-14 was senior
Breanna Harris' pursuit of the 1,000-point club for her career.
The post from Mansfield, Texas, entered her senior year needing 268 points to reach that mark after a junior season that saw her average a double-double for the year with 15.6 points and 105 rebounds per game in 2012-13.
She nearly pulled off that feat once again, averaging 15.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game as a senior and earning all-LSC honors; however, it was her 34
th career double-double that pushed her over the 1,000-point plateau.
Harris finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds in a 79-68 loss to Texas Woman's on January 29
th – a loss the Lions would avenge later in the season on the road – to make her the ninth Lion in program history to reach 1,000 points for her career.
She finished the season, and her career with 1,137 points in her three-year career, which moved her just past Stacey Norell for eighth all-time at A&M-Commerce.
In addition to her scoring, Harris also was a dominating force on the boards, finishing with 886 career rebounds – the most all-time in program history.
