DALLAS UNIVERSITY REGISTERS VICTORY

EAST TEXAS NORMALS LOSE TO CATHOLICS IN HARD-FOUGHT GAME, 13 TO 0.

The University of Dallas defeated East Texas Normal yesterday by the score of 13-0. The contest was played on a heavy field and rain poured down during the game, making clean football impossible. However, the teams battled fiercly, with the Normals contesting every yard gained.

The second touchdown came in a peculiar way and followed immediately after the first score. Grigg kicked off and the ball rolled over the goal line. Farrell, the Dallas center, went down the field fast and fell on the ball for a touchdown. The play was a very unusual one.

The game was, for the most part, a line plunging exhibition, as forward passing and end runs were impossible. However, Palmer and Grigg got away a few times for good gains, while Lala plunged outside tackle for small gains repeatedly.

The Normal backs were steady plungers and consistent gains repeatedly made first down, one time bringing the ball to the Dallas 10-yar line, where they were held for downs. Farrell, Furche, and Horne played a strong defensive game for Dallas, especially Farrell, who backed up his line well and broke up many of Normal's plays.

For Normal, Finch and Mahoney played fine ball and were the big factors in Normal's offense, while Rich and Watson held their own with the Dallas linemen.

It was a gruelling contest, and the mud-besplattered players were hardly recognizable when they left the field. Dallas University plays their old rivals from Denton Normal, which school has one of the best teams in the State Friday at the Fair grounds.

The Normal lined up as follows: Clinton, right end; Rich, right tackle; Watson, right guard; Cameron, center; Parsens, left guard; Gathnee, left tackle; Curd, left end; Finch, quarter; Moody, left half; Johnson (captain), right half; Maloney, full.
