COMMERCE - The East Texas A&M University football team's standout kicker
Ozlo Rigby has been named to the 2026 Fred Mitchell Award Watch List. This prestigious accolade recognizes excellence on the football field and in community service, celebrating top-performing place-kickers across the FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and JUCO levels.
Playing in all 12 games, Rigby (Panama City, Fla.) totaled 37 kick-off touchbacks and 11 field goals made. His impressive stats include 59 kickoffs for a total of 3,769 yards, successfully converting 38 out of 39 PATs and finishing 11 of 17 on field goals.
Among his notable achievements, Rigby delivered a season-high 47-yard field goal against Northwestern State and went 2-for-2 on field goals in that game. He also achieved a season-high three field goals at home against Lamar.
Throughout the 2026 season, the Fred Mitchell Award Selection Committee will recognize outstanding performances with its weekly Kicker of the Week honors. The Committee will also announce the Midseason Watch List, Semifinalists, Finalists, and ultimately the recipient of the 2026 Fred Mitchell Award following the conclusion of the regular season.
The Fred Mitchell Award is presented annually to an outstanding place-kicker competing at the FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA, or JUCO level based on excellence on the football field and in the community. The award honors Fred Mitchell's distinguished football career and lifelong commitment to community service.
