THE THANKSGIVING GAME

THE THANKSGIVING GAME saw E. T. the host of Sam Houston Normal Institute. The weather was very unfavorable, but the student body was out en masse, with the band, cheers, and plenty of "pep". Huntsville made their touchdown on a fluke, as did the Commerce eleven in one instance. This was the game in which Carlock contested for honors with L. Parsons and Rubarth in blocking kicks, and it was also the only one in which we kicked a goal. Griffitts kicked them all, however. In the last two minutes of play the second string men were sent in against Sam Houston, and they gained several yards on the tired visitors. "Grandma" Harwell was the first second stringer to appear on the field, and he was greeted with cheers, for his loyal work had not escaped notice. Thus the game ended 21 to 7, and with it a successful season.
