In a fast and snappy game Saturday afternoon staged at Greenville, the E.T.S.N.C. Lions defeated the Wesley College Aggregation by the score of 13 to 7. Not withstanding the fact that Jernigin's men were outweighed approximately ten pounds to the man they displayed a superior brand of play at all stages of the game.
Wesley drew first blood in the first quarter, scoring their touchdown by blocking a kick and then falling on the ball behind the Normal's goal. E.T.'s wrecking crew swung into action in the second quarter and tied the count 7 to 7. Their second touchdown was made in the fourth quarter.
After the beginning of the second quarter, Wesley's men were as busy as a one-eyed man at a three ring circus trying to keep up with the lightning like plays of the Normalites. The entire team of the Normal played a good game; especially Holly, Fluhardy and Green deserve ample credit for the stellar plays. The line was practically impenetrable at all stages.

FIRST QUARTER.
Wesley won the toss and chose to defend the south goal. East Texas kicked off, Wesley recovering the ball on their 17 yard line and returned it to 15 yards. Cole made ten yards around left end, Cole makes 6 yards, same route, Normal men seem slow swinging into action. Emmett makes 2 yards around left end. Time out for Cole, Wesley's first victim. Play resumed. Nixon makes 2 yards through left tackle, Cole gains a yard through center. Ramspot catches pass that nets 15 yards. Cole again pierces E.T.'s line for 3 yards. Wesley fumbles, Emmett downed for 9 yards. Lost ball now on the Normal's 40 yard line. Nixon punts the ball 30 yards.
Sessions falls on it. Wesley in ten yards of Normal goal, 1st down, Emmett carried it 4 yards around left, 2nd down fake nets two yards through center, 3rd down no gain, Jernigin's men holding like a stone wall. 4th down Cole made 1 yard through senter on the fake used on the 2nd down. Ball goes over on Normal's 3 yard line. Tankersley blocked an attempted kick by E.T. and Sessions fell on the ball for Wesley's first touchdown. Ely kicks goal. Score 7 to nothing, Wesley.
Weley kicks to E.T. Workman returns 12 yards with the ball from E.T.'s 24 yard line, no gain through line, Holly makes 2 yards through center, 2nd down is to go, right end run nets 3 yards, Fluhardy rolls 'em for 8 more yards, 1st down 10. The Normalites are marching through Wesley's defense like Sherman went through Georgia. E.T. gets 5 yards. Penalty for roughing Green makes 5 yards, Wesley gets 5 yards. Penalty. 3rd down 5 to go; Brownrig sifts through for 4 yards. Holly makes a fine run around right end for 8 yards. Ball now on Wesley's 36 yard line.
SECOND QUARTER
1st down ten. Flu gets 2 yards through line. Holly makes 6 yards around right end, Flu gets 2 more yards through the line. 1st down ten, Holly 3 yards through the line, 2nd to go, Flu makes another yard around right end, 3rd down 6, Brownrig fails to game, 4th down 6, Holly makes it by inches. They measure. Ball on Wesley's 16 yard line. 1st down ten. Holly makes 3 yards, Green made a pretty broken field run of 13 yards for a touchdown. Holly kicked goal - Score 7 to 7.
Wesley receives the ball, E.T. fell on the ball on Wesley's 40 yard line, 1st down no gain, Holly got 3 yards on the 2nd down, Flu failed to gain on 3rd down, Wesley's line is holding. Flu punted about 30 yards on the 4th down. Ramspot carried it back ten yards for Wesley. Cole gets 4 yards around right end, Nixon fails to gain through the line. Time out while the Lion eats Preacher No. 2. Commerce band sounds taps for the victim. Wesley yell gang moans. Emmett makes it 1st down 10. Nixon fumbles no gain, Cole made about a half yard around right end on the 2nd down, Fly pulled off the side step and made 10 yards by the same route. 1st down ten. Cole loses 2 yards, Rasmpot made 12 yards on a perfect fly executed forward pass. This man is playing fine. Time out for Rev. Ramspot, the Lion go hungry again. The first half is up with the ball on E.T.'s 40 yard line.
Wesley's band and rooters parade on the field and grin like cats.
THIRD QUARTER
Jernigin's men receive E.T. blockes the kick and get the ball on their 47 yard line. Flu gains 3 yards through center, Ballin center of field. The Normal squad fumbles and Wesley recovers on their 50 yard line. 1st down ten, Nixon makes no gain, 2nd ten, Cole made 5 yards around right end. Ball on E.T.'s 45 yard line. 3rd 5, Nixon makes 2 yards through center. Wesley substitutes Moss for Schilde. 4th down. Wesley fumbles and is thrown for 12 yards loss. E.T. gets another 5 yard penalty. The ball goes over to E.T. on Wesley's 40 yard line. 1st down ten. Flu failed to gain. Holly makes 15 yards around left end. The referee halts the game to silence Wesley's rooters. 1st ten. Flu makes 4 yards through the line. 2nd Six, Holly gets 3 yards around right end. 3rd down 3 to go, Green fumbles on Wesley's 18 yard line. The Normal again was given a 5 yard penalty. The Referee joins the Wesley team. 4th down 8 yards to go, Holly makes broken field run that nets 15 yards. E.T.'s ball on Wesley's 8 yard line. 1st down goal to gain, Flu gains 2 yards through the line. 2nd six, Green makes 4 yards. Time out for Green. Ramspot, Wesley's star, leaves the field. 3rd down 25 yards to go, Flu is thrown for 2 yards loss. 4th down to go, whistle blows ending third quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
Ramspot is again in the line up for Wesley. Wesley now defending the south goal. It is the fourth down and the old Lion is within 4 yards of the Preacher's refuge, Holly sidestepped about a dozen men including some of his own and rushed over the line for E.T.'s second touchdown. No goal as the ball was allowed to touch the ground. Score 13 to 7 in E.T.'s favor.
Wesley received the ball but after a fumble the Lions came into possession of it on their own forty five yard line. Again Jernigin's men were penalized 5 yards. Cause unknown to writer. 1st down ten, Biggers who is playing for Brownrig failes to gain. Time out for Biggers. Morrison substitutes for Rev. Sessions and Baker goes in for Biggers. Play resumed. Holly makes 2 yards around left end, Fluharty punted outside. Wesley's ball on their twenty yard line. Cole made 4 yards around left end on the first down.
Nixon makes 3 yards through the line. Seven minutes to play. Emmett failed to gain through the line. Nixon punted twenty five yards, Holly recovered the ball. Baker failed to gain. Holly makes 22 yards by a fine broken field run around left end. Wesley rooters now as quiet as a deaf and dumb checker game. Time out for a Lion. We are off again. Baker again loses 5 yards around right end. Green makes a yard through center, Holly attempts to pass seemingly and is downed for 5 yards loss. Flu punted 30 yards and Wesley carried it back 13 yards. Ball now in Wesley's possession on E.T.S.N.C.'s 40 yard line. The referee penalized the local squad twenty-five yards. He forced Holly out of the game, Wesley's men couldn't get him out so their twelfth man, "Mr. Referee," put him out. Wesley attempts to pass for three consecutive times but failed. Two minutes to play. The ball goes over to E.T. on their 15 yards line. Baker attempts right end run and is downed for loss. E.T. is again penalized to within 4 yards of their own goal. Thanks to Wesley's twelfth man. Flu made 4 yards through the line. Baker again. The game ended with the ball on E.T.'s 8 yard line.
