Commerce, Texas – The A&M-Commerce softball team held its first official practices of the 2015 inaugural season Saturday morning and afternoon with a pair of indoor workouts due to the winter weather.
 
The Lions went through indoor workouts in the morning and again in the afternoon before capping their first official practice with a weight workout.
 
"It was great knowing today started a three-week journey to our first official game," A&M-Commerce head coach Richie Bruister said.  "It was very exciting to see the team working hard and to the high level for our first practice.  We had a great indoor practice and will do the same Sunday.  I am really looking forward to a little warmer weather and getting on the field Monday."
 
A&M-Commerce will follow a similar routine Sunday with the temperatures in the low 40s and chances of rain around 90 percent.  Monday warmer weather will greet the Lions and the first on-field practices will be held.
 
The Lions are slated to open their inaugural season on at noon on February 1 with a doubleheader against St. Edwards at home in the newly completed facility.
 
Season tickets are still available through the Lion Athletic Ticket Office in the Field House. Fans can purchase tickets one of three ways – stopping by the Field House, calling the ticket off at (903) 886-5558 or by going online to www.WeAreLionsTix.com.  Reserved season ticket seating is $75 ,$50 for the tickets with a $25 donation to the softball program and $60 for general admission season tickets.  Faculty/Staff and seniors can purchase season tickets for $50.
