Lions Set To Face Unbeaten Aggies

Commerce, Texas – The Lions (10-4, 3-1 LSC) began their six game stretch on the road with a showdown against the undefeated Cameron Aggies (12-0, 3-0 LSC) in Lawton, Oklahoma.

The Lions and Aggies have an all-time record of 24-24 when facing each other. Alas, the Aggies have the advantage over the Lions in conference play with an overall record of 23-19 as well as in Aggie Gym with a 13-7 record.

Junior Taryn Driver leads the Lions with 170 total kills and is ranked fifth in the LSC. Sophomore Courtney Tate is ranked third in the LSC for assists with 580 and assists per set with 10.18. Finally, freshman Jaslyn Wacker cracks the top five in the LSC ranking fourth in total blocks with 52 entering into this weekends matches.

The unbowed Aggies are led by Kat Evans with 161 kills overall however, Jenna Gillean leads the team in kills for conference play only with 41 and averaging 3.42 kills per set. Jenna Gillean also leads the team with 40 blocks overall in the 2015 season. Overall, opponents hitting percentage struggles against the Aggies sitting at .126 which leads the LSC.

"This weekend we have a tough road trip against two good teams. We have to go into Aggie Gym where we historically struggle at and try to steal one on their floor in front of their great fans. Then the very next day play at the D.L. Ligon Coliseum to face Midwestern so it will be a tough weekend. The good news is that I believe we gained more confidence after beating two good teams this past weekend that we can use moving forward into this upcoming weekend. We served well and made good in-game adjustments against both Southeastern Oklahoma State and Texas A&M-Kingsville so if we continue to do that, and add in our confidence I believe we will perform well." –Coach Case.

Although the Aggies have been respectable at home against the Lions, The Lions have had their number in the last two meetings in Lawton, Oklahoma and look to extend that streak.
